Thursday, May 4 @ 7-11pm
Biola Library Courtyard
We will be celebrating “May The Fourth” aka Star Wars Day and commemorating the 40th anniversary of the saga. This is an SGA-sponsored event and is free and open to all Biola undergraduate & graduate students, alumni and personnel. Come join us!
FOOD & DRINKS – Come to the darkside, we will have cookies – and much more!
LIVE MUSIC – we’ll have a student ensemble from the Music Department and they’ll be performing a selection of the Star Wars film score – both classics and newer music.
TRIVIA CONTEST* – Test your knowledge of the Star Wars saga against other fellow fans!
ART COMPETITION* – We want to see your artistic representation of the “Lightside / Darkside”. Any medium is fine (but paintings/posters/drawings might be preferred as it will be easier to display). Want some inspiration?, check out Lightsabr.net.
If you will be participating, we ask that:
- you bring your art around 6pm to the event
- bring a postcard-sized paper with 1) your name, 2) the title of the piece, and 3) the medium used to create the art
- RSVP beforehand so we can prepare for the space needed to display everyone’s art
COSTUME CONTEST* – Show us your self-made Star Wars costume!
PHOTOBOOTH – You’ll be able to take photos against a Star Wars backdrop with some Star Wars helmets, props and costumes.
RAFFLE – Several prizes and one grand prize will be awarded. We’ll be giving away a ForceFX lightsaber! Tickets can be purchased at the event for a suggested donation of $1 or more. We’re parterning with the Biola Sanctity Of Life Club and proceeds will go to the Whittier Pregnancy Care Clinic. Win a lightsaber for being a lifesaver!
* Prizes will be awarded to the top three finalists.
We want to put on the best event possible, so if you plan to attend, please RSVP via the form above. We’re also looking for some volunteers to help us. If you might be interested, let us know via the form.
